Tomorrow, June 11, we begin the novena of Our Lady, venerated with the title of “Consolata”, according to the tradition of the city of Turin, of which she is the patron saint.
Mary: Consolata and Consoler, certainly did not stop in Turin, or Piemonte. She inspired Saint Joseph Allamano to found two Missionary Institutes. Canon Allamano, rector of the Shrine of the Consolata, was so certain that this ecclesial and missionary initiative came from Mary Consolata, that he repeated without hesitation: ” Consolata is the founder!”
And so, through the evangelizing work of the Missionaries, Mary Consolata has reached four continents: Europe, Africa, America and Asia.
This year’s Novena intends to retrace the missionary paths of the Institute of Consolata Missionary Sisters and also wants to pass through the Holy Door of the places where Mary Consolata is present, as a consoler of the afflicted.
In each day of the Novena we will pass through the door of a church dedicated to Mary Consolata, beginning right from Consolata Shrine, Turin . A stopover in Castelnuovo Don Bosco, in the chapel where Saint Joseph Allamano knew and learnt to pray to the Consolata. We will then move on to churches dedicated to her in Africa (Ethiopia and Mozambique), in America (Brazil, Argentina and Colombia) and in Asia (Mongolia).
The theme that will accompany us in prayer will be CONSOLATION.
From tomorrow, then, let’s join together in prayer!
