On 29th Jan, 2026 we joyfully celebrated our Foundation Day and the Centenary of Birth into Heaven of our Founder, St. Joseph Allamano. Our hearts were full of gratitude for it was truly a historic and grace-filled moment for all of us.
The solemn celebration took place at St. Peter and Paul Church, the Main Celebrant was His Eminence Cardinal Berhaneyesus Demerew Souraphiel accompanied by the Regional Superior of the Consolata Missionary Fathers and many other Priests from within the region. The Consolata Missionary Fathers and the Consolata Missionary Sisters from different parts of Ethiopia were also present. We were joined by other various Congregations and Churches that made this feast truly ecclesial and missionary.
The day coincided with a Marian feast; thus, we honoured our Founder together with Our Lady, Mother of Consolation. Cardinal Berhaneyesus, in his homily, shared the importance of Mary in our Christian and missionary life, encouraging us to follow her example of faith, humility, and total trust in God.

Sr. Meselech Gizaw led the faithful in reading a message from “Holiness in Total Surrender.” that says, “We celebrate the first centenary of the Birth in Heaven of Saint Joseph Allamano. His death was a true birth into Heaven…” This profound message highlighted the charism, the spirituality, and the missionary passion that continue to guide us today.
The celebration concluded with the Eucharist adoration and thereafter the entertainment that portrayed gratitude, unity, and missionary zeal.
The Centenary not only reminds us of the holy death of our Founder, St. Joseph Allamano but it also renews our commitment to holiness and mission.

May St. Joseph Allamano intercede for us, that we too may live “Holiness in Total Surrender” for the mission.
