Second day: Consolation, a gift. Her gift to us
“Do not be afraid, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine! (Is. 43:1)
Consoling is not simply hearing words of comfort; it is doing good, giving good, doing good to another; it is an act of fidelity and communion, of welcome, of loving presence. Consolation touches, caresses the heart, and spreads throughout the being. It breathes to be contemplation despite the pain. It is a light that warms and restores, it is peaceful; it is a shadow that shelters from the burning heat of the sun.
Bipolar activity: from Mary to us, from us to Mary. (Mother Nazarena)
Litany:
Deeply consoled, pray for us
Most docile to the Spirit, pray for us
Poor among the poor, pray for us
LET US PRAY
Oh Lord Jesus Christ,
by whose inscrutable providence
every gift is conveyed to us through your mother Mary,
graciously grant that honouring her
under beloved name of Comforter,
we may enjoy her help and protection.
Who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen
